Dear members and colleagues,

The 2008 SMBE (NSW) Annual Training Seminar and Conference (incorporating the Country Technician's meeting) will be held at Dubbo NSW. This will be a major key-note event for SMBE NSW & it's members as this is the 20th Anniversary of this event. This event has grown from humble beginnings as a small week-end Country Technician's meeting at Dubbo in 1988. Back then a handful of Technicians frustrated at the lack of training, education & networking opportunities available for country techs decided to have a Country Technician's meeting in their own time & payed their own way. It was a no-frills event but has grown & developed into a well attended National & International event with people travelling from all over Australia & New Zealand to attend. The "need" which these early Pioneers had struck a similar chord with other NSW & Australasian Biomedical Engineering staff creating & evolving the major event we have now.

Please remember that this seminar is not a sales expo but it's real aim is to improve the knowledge of Biomedical Technicians & Engineers
